Helen Ofula a parapalegic paralympian representing the Great Britain in the 2012 Paralympics games launches her book in my dreams i dance at the Kenyan High Commission.The inspirational book reflects on her identity as an African woman and a daughter of Great britain( her husbands') country of Origin
February 6th 2011:-The permanent Mission to Sri Lanka attend the Sri Lankan Independence day hosted by the Sri Lankan High Commission to the Great Britain
The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations hosted a well attended Concert and Reception at the prestigious Asia Society for the diplomatic community, senior UN personnel and members of the business and social elite of New York to mark the 63rd anniversary of Sri Lanka's Independence.
Over 120 Permanent Missions were represented at the event. The guests were treated to a memorable evening of classical music, jazz and traditional Sri Lankan dance by Sri Lanka’s own artistes.
Also in attendance was Khayanga Wasike, the newly crowned Miss Commonwealth International-Africa (Kenya). Miss Khayanga who hails from Kenya’s Western province won the prestigious title in October last year.
